Sunday School is the primary educational ministry for children from kindergarten through high school. The aim of the Sunday school is for the catechesis of young people in preparation for a fulfilling adult life in the Church. Toward this end, the children are instructed on a Sunday to Sunday basis on the life and teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Saints, the Bible and the doctrines, principles and traditions of the Orthodox Church.

Activities also include learning hymns, Bible verses, participating in the church choir and boys are encouraged to become altar boys. In addition, the Orthodox Vacation Bible School (OVBS) program is held annually during the March Break. Students also get the opportunity to participate in community events held under the auspices of the Ecumenical Christian Fellowship of Toronto.

Since we are now part of the Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church, all resources are from the diocese and we are in touch with the central organization of the Sunday school of the diocese. All our students have been provided with textbooks and workbooks, and also the book of the Common Prayer and the Living Sacrifice.

Sunday School is held in the mornings from 9 am so students get one full hour for all activities. At present there are 64 students on the roll, with 12 teachers and teaching assistants. Many of our high school students take an active part as teachers / teaching assistants providing them valuable life-skills and also earn their community hours.
